The story of Leon’s goes back to the early 70’s when I took a cooking class in Jr. high. Later, in high school, I went to work at small buffet restaurant; The Royal Fork. This began my hobby of cooking and experimentation. I never wrote down my recipes; it was just fun and most of it worked (I had a few duds, well… a lot of duds).

In the 90’s I got into making pickles and then stumbled onto BBQ! Fast forward to 2009. BBQ was so much fun but damn, there’s got to be a way to make better sauce then what was at the supermarket.

I went on to make several varieties of sauce, not much better than from the store. But in 2011 I made a sauce that my wife could finally enjoy. “I might have something here”, I thought. I entered it in the county fair and earned 3rd place. Since then, I’ve earned 1st place every year with four different recipes.

In 2015 I became a certified BBQ Judge through KCBS (Kansas City BBQ Society), the largest organizer of BBQ contests in the world (KCBS Judge #15452).

BBQ and saucing is still my favorite hobby but after pushing and prodding from my friends and family, Leon’s Good Stuff is available to everyone. There are more recipes coming soon and I hope you enjoy it and have a great time cooking!
